From old and used materials, I take what most would consider trash and turn it into treasure. It’s literally considered “crap,” but not to me. That may bring you to wonder about my business name - Chadscrap. Is it Chad’s Crap or Chad Scrap? It’s kind of both when you think about it.
Everything I create is hand-made, so no digital machines are used to make cuts for me. Every piece is one-of-a-kind and flawed - it’s not made in a factory to be set on a store shelf. It’s for those looking for the piece they can’t find anywhere else.
HEY there, I’M CHAD.
I am a dedicated artist and woodworker with over 12 years of hands-on experience creating one-of-a-kind pieces from reclaimed materials. By day, I’m an accountant and live in the suburbs with my wife, 2 kids, and golden doodle. Basically, I live in a spreadsheet, but I discovered I could make cool art with my hands. What began as a personal outlet has grown into a passion for turning the overlooked into the unforgettable.
Drawing inspiration from the discipline, teamwork, and resilience found in sports, I bring that same energy and focus to every creation. I’m driven by a love for craftsmanship, a respect for the stories behind found objects, and a desire to create something lasting and meaningful.
Oddly enough, it all started when my fence toppled over. The wood from the fence was pretty old and cool-looking, so I knew I couldn’t toss it. My brother-in-law happened to have a birthday not too long after that. So, I wanted to figure out how to make him a football team sign from the wood from the fence. People really liked it, so I kept going. I started making sports signs and continued to work on refining my art, striving to improve every time. Over time, I’ve expanded to collage work, string art, cutting boards, and wood carvings. Who knows what else I will get myself into next?
Every project feels like a puzzle that I have to figure out how to piece together. Some of my best pieces I've done have come from experimenting with the materials and equipment I already have. The pieces I make are personal and custom for people who have a passion for something, and I help create something unique they cannot find anywhere else.
